Using a shotgun fibre optic rear sight is becoming more popular with practical shooters and clay shooter. Using a front and middle bead can give a differing sight picture dependent on cheek weld and light level. A fibre optic rear sight removes this problem and gives a highly visible rear sight. Even more useful for helping new shooters align the bead with the target.

Please be aware that if your rib is narrower than 8mm the rear sight will overhang slightly.

Fits with supplied 3M adhesive. Easy to apply.

20mm overall length. The amount of fibre optic rod exposed is more than enough to give you a bright dot even on a cloudy day.

Bead size is 1.5mm. Depending on exactly where you place the sight in the rib you can match the size of a 3mm or 2mm fibre optic front sight.

It is recommended to use a fibre optic front sight in conjunction with this for best results. Preferably of a contrasting colour.

The exposed length of the fibre optic rod gathers light and concentrates it the end of the rod providing a bright dot.

Made with pride in England.

  • WHY A FASTHIT FIBRE OPTIC SHOTGUN BEAD AND NOT ANOTHER BRAND?

We have studied all the strengths and weaknesses of the competing fibre optic shotgun sights and have addressed the weaknesses over several versions with feedback from a wide variety of shooters including UKPSA and IPSC England shooters. Even so, we are still happy to take feedback and are eager to improve where we can. The issues we see with other brands are these.

    • Frame Thickness– The tube occluding the weak eye should be as thin as possible in order not to obscure small or distant targets. Many poorly made sights have very thick walls. A FastHit has 0.6mm wall thickness. This thickness maintains durability whilst not rendering the sight useless for distant targets.
    • Eye Occlusion Tube– The length of the tube that prevents your weak eye from seeing the dot is important. If it’s too short you will see two dots with both eyes open. The brain then has to take a fraction of a second to choose which dot to focus on. A FastHit has a tube more than 40mm long to prevent this.
    • Fibre Optic Rod– The fibre optic rod needs to be of good quality. The end which is viewed needs to be as smooth as possible to give a good clarity dot. The other end must be blacked out to avoid losing 50% of the brightness and washing out the colour. Lesser brands often make all these mistakes.
    • Durability– The frame must be adequately durable whilst having a good connection to the fibre optic rod inside. Losing the fibre optic out of other brands whilst shooting was the reason we started FastHit. The fibre optic will never fall out of a FastHit. If it somehow did we’d send you a replacement anyway.
    • Adhesive– A FastHit sight includes spare adhesive just in case you don’t get the placement right the first time. As far as we know no other brands do this. It’s a small thing but no doubt, often appreciated.
